Lita Rossana Ford (also known in the form of Lita Ford) is an British born American guitarist who was the lead of The Runaways a female hard rock band in the 70s. They gained attention by their raunchy lyrics and punkish style. Though the group didn't have much success in the United States, they were hugely popular overseas. It was particularly true in Japan. Ford began a heavy metal solo career when the group was disbanded in 1979. She started taking voice lessons before releasing her debut album "Out For Blood", followed by "Dancin" on the Edge.
